Speaker Engagement Requests
Thank you for considering K9 Partners for Patriots for your speaking engagement needs. We are thrilled to receive requests and share insights about our nonprofit organization. Speaking engagements are conducted by our founder or one of our esteemed senior staff or volunteers.
We see speaking engagements as a valuable opportunity to introduce our organization and provide an overview of the crucial work we’re dedicated to in the battle against veteran suicide. If you have specific areas of interest, we are more than willing to customize our presentation to address them.
Schedule a Visit
If your primary interest is seeing and interacting with our veteran service dog teams, then instead of requesting a speaker, we recommend that you Schedule A Visit to our training campus. During your visit, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive tour, witness a class in action, and have meaningful conversations with our veterans.
Respecting the Healing Process
Our veteran service dog teams are on a journey of healing and recovery. While we understand the desire to have a service dog team attend your event we kindly request that interested parties respect the comfort levels of our veterans. Due to the nature of PTSD, many of them find group settings challenging.
We will do our best to arrange for one or two teams to join speaking engagements, these teams are not for display or demonstration. They require a supportive and understanding community to thrive on their path to recovery.
One-On-One Interaction
At speaking engagements, the attending service dog team’s handler is happy to answer any questions one-on-one. This allows for a more personal and comfortable interaction, ensuring that both the veteran and the service dog feel at ease.
Tailoring Your Event
Depending on the size or type of event, the inclusion of a veteran service dog team may vary. We will assess the feasibility and inform you promptly at the time of your request. Your understanding is appreciated as we strive to prioritize the well-being of our veterans and their service dogs.
Our primary goal is to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, recognizing the unique needs of our veterans and their service dogs. While we strive to accommodate as many requests as possible, there are certain environments that may not be suitable due to the potential impact on individuals with PTSD.
Events featuring loud concerts, extremely large groups of people, or activities involving fireworks are among those we consider unnecessarily challenging for our service dog teams, and we will not ask them to attend these types of events. These situations can trigger anxiety and stress for both the veterans and their service dogs, hindering their ability to engage effectively. We appreciate your support and understanding.
